Confused About Hair Care? These Tips Can Help!

Taking proper care of your hair does not have to be complicated. You can simply follow the advice that follows to get the healthy hair, that others would die for. Each tip has helped to accomplish reclaiming the healthy hair that many were born with, so be sure to read through them carefully.

Go ahead and forget the old adage about brushing your hair 100 strokes a day. Over brushing can actually lead to hair loss, breakage of strands and increased oil production. Normal brushing of your hair once or twice daily is sufficient to keep it healthy and free of tangles and build-up.

When shampooing your hair, make sure that your hair is completely wet before applying a quarter-sized amount. This minimizes breakage due to tugging and tangling, and it helps the shampoo to effectively cleanse each strand. Do not lather for more than 30 seconds, and rinse with a blast of cool water to seal in moisture.

If you enjoy wearing your hair in one ponytail, don’t put the ponytail in one spot every time. Even if you use soft scrunchies, you will experience some stress on the scalp if you are always wearing your ponytail in the same spot. If your job requires you to wear hair back, when you aren’t working, wear it down as much as possible.

Distribute your hair’s natural oils throughout all of your hair. To do this, begin by bending over and brushing your hair. Start at the scalp and brush down towards the end of your hair. Once your hair is brushed all the way through, massage your scalp with your fingers.

Drink more water! Your hair needs water to thrive especially during the winter months. Increasing your water intake will help no matter what your hair type is. Start carrying a bottle with you and make sure that you are going through at least a few bottles every day. Your hair will thank you.

Avoid using products on your hair that contain alcohol, as they tend to dry your hair out. You have to exercise caution with the hair care products you buy, because many of them can have these sorts of damaging side effects. Read the labels, and make sure the products that you purchase are good for the health of your hair.

Get a haircut every six to nine weeks to keep your hair looking its best. Over time, your hair will break and the ends will split. This creates uneven layers that make your hair look unhealthy and dull. Getting frequent haircuts will help to keep the ends from splitting all the way up to the roots, and help keep your hair shinier and healthier.

You now have the information that you need to reclaim the youthful, healthy hair you have been desiring. You will no longer need to envy other women who have the shiny, flowing hair that you wanted, because you will have the hair, you have dreamed of. Enjoy your new found healthy hair.
