Keep Your Skin Healthy Using These Tips

Is smooth, soft, silky skin in your future? Would you like your skin to radiate good health? Are you looking to both nourish and protect your skin? The following tips are designed to help you get the skin you deserve! A few minutes of your time on a daily basis can do wonders!

Do not shave skin that is dry. You should not shave without using a quality lathering product, such as a shaving cream. Shaving without water irritates skin and creates ingrown hairs, as well as razor burn. Make sure to moisturize after shaving. Your skin will be moisturized and any irritation will be soothed.

In order to have healthy, clean skin, you must stay hydrated. That means drinking around 8 cups of water every day. If you don’t drink enough water, your face will become oily which will lead to pimples, acne, and other unpleasant things. Not only will you look better by staying hydrated, but you’ll feel better too!

Skin care regimes differ for each skin type. Find a cleanser that works for your type, and stick with it. If you have oily or combination skin types, try gel or foaming cleansers. Normal and dry skin types should stick with cream based cleansers. Toners are optional, but do wonders for your skin. Try them out, and go from there.

If you suffer from dry skin, there are things you should watch out for. Make sure the temperature of your bath water is not too hot because it will strip the moisture from your body. Avoid bubble baths as these can strip your skin of the oils required for hydration. When done in the bath, pat dry instead of rubbing and never skip the moisturizer.

Whenever you go outside, remember to use plenty of sunblock. If you fail to do this, your skin could undergo something called photo aging. The sun damages the cells in your skin and will cause your skin to prematurely age, leading to more wrinkles in your skin as you age.

To protect your skin from sun damage you should always wear sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher when spending time outside, especially between the hours of 10AM and 4PM. Wearing sunscreen protects your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays that can lead to wrinkles, age spots, rough skin, or even skin cancer.

If you choose to wear foundation, it pays to know what kind to wear based on your skin type. The wrong foundation can make you look startingly artificial, whereas the right foundation, applied properly, can really bring out the best in your skin. Foundations come in a number of different forms – powder, powdercream, cream, whipped or foam, liquid/lotion – and they all apply and appear quite differently, so it’s worth doing the research to find out which type best suits your complexion.
